Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker Review

Design is compact in shape, clean and sports and elegant design. It is 5″ tall, 9.5″ wide and 1.9″ thick. It may be light in dimension, but it has got some weight to it – it weighs 2.78 pounds.

The unit is equipped with a magnetic protective combined cover and stand that automatically turns the speaker off when closed. Bose offers additional nylon and leather covers in a wider variety of colors for $30 and $50, respectively.

The speaker has a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery that’s rated for 3 to 4 hours of use at high volume and for 7-8 hours at moderately lower volume levels. There hasn’t been any change in battery power as compared to the previous version.

Range and Pairning

The Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II has a wireless range of about 30 feet and works with any A2DP Bluetooth-enabled device, which includes nearly all smartphones and most tablets, including the iPad. Bluetooth pairing just works, be it your iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, an iPad or Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. A simple hold down of the Bluetooth button on top of the speaker is all you need to pair the speaker with your smartphone or tablet.

  • Great sound quality
  • Compact size
  • Unique cover/stand
  • Decent battery life
  • Good range
  • AUX input

  • Bose SoundLink Wireless Mobile speaker doesn’t come with a remote. You really don’t need it because you have your smartphone to control the same.
  • In my tests, I found that the connection was pretty stable, but I did run into the occasional hiccup.
  • Expensive

The Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II is an excellent Bluetooth speaker. It’s built well, connects easily, looks great, and as you might expect from a Bose product, it has a awesome sound quality. The $299 price tag is steep, but if you’re looking for a premium Bluetooth speaker, the Bose SoundLink II should be at the top of your list.
