"I'm unable to change brightness on my Galaxy S II. Please help as I could not find a relevant solution in Google on the topic - cannot change brightness on Galaxy S II"

This issue happens usually when you upgrade your phone to the newer version of Android.

You do not need to downgrade to the older version of Android just for this reason. Try the following steps to troubleshoot brightness issues on Samsung Galaxy S II:

  1. Go to Menu -> Settings -> Display -> Brightness
  2. Turn on Automatic Brightness
  3. Restart the phone
  4. Turn off Automatic Brightness
  5. Try and change the brightness level.

Usually this will resolve your issue of unable to change brightness in Samsung GS II and if it does not, you will have to reinstall the operating system or contact Samsung for help.
