Charging Solution – iHome IB969G Review

Posted by Mayank on December 3, 2011 in Review

Not long ago, there used to be electronic items, which the family shared. With the recent spurt in personal items like iPhone, iPod, iPad, Kindle or other e-Readers and other smart phones, there has been a substantial increase in the number of electronic items we carry and need. All these items cause all the charging points in the house to be used up. What if there was a charging station, which could charge multiple items at the same time?

iHome has come with a charging solution – The iHome IB969G

iHome IB969G reviewiHome IB969G is a great solution for charging up an assortment of Apple gadgets. It provides the extra power needed to charge an iPad while it’s powered on (the USB ports on most PC’s only put out 500mw and the iPad needs 1000mw to be charged while it’s in use). you can charge 4 devices at once and only use a single power outlet. Lets have a look at iHome IB969G review:

Positives:

  • Charges Apple iPad, iPod and iPhone
  • Built-in iPad stand
  • Syncs iPods/iPhones with iTunes
  • Expandable rest area fits and charges (via USB ports) most eBook readers, including Sony Reader, Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, etc.
  • Charges BlackBerrys via USB port
  • The product is compact. It weighs 2 pounds and measures¬†3.2 x 10.5 x 9.8 inches.
  • Sync on/off toggle on the top.

Negatives:

  • Looks could have been better
  • You’ll have to remove all the items from their cases/skins before charging.
  • Syncs iPhone and iPod, but does not sync the iPad.

BottomLine:

Not a complete solution, yet one of the best available for the price you’re paying (available around $40). If charging multiple devices has been a pain – you can give it a try. Also, check other customer reviews at Amazon.
