The Home Cinema 5010’s biggest competition in the under-$3000 price bracket is the Panasonic PT-AE7000 (Read the Panasonic PT-AE7000 review). Both the projectors are built for home theater and bring out their best in a darkened room.

Overall, both the Epson 5010 and the Panasonic AE7000 are remarkably similar in performance and features. The screen picture is clear, sharp, and high in contrast. Color accuracy on both machines is excellent, and neither required much adjustment. The differences are mostly subtle. The AE7000 has 3 HDMI ports while the 5010 has 2 HDMI ports. However, WirelessHD is one feature available on the 5010, but not on AE7000.

Pros

  • Epson 5010 is extremely quiet.
