If you are using Google Reader for your RSS subscriptions and now have switched to any other RSS feed reader like NetNewsWire, Bloglines, Straw etc. then you can export all your subscription from Google Reader to your new reader. So you don’t need to add all your past subscriptions one by one and it is as easy as few clicks.

 

How to export subscriptions from Google Reader?

To export RSS subscriptions from Google Reader , please follow the below steps

Step1: Once Logged into Google Reader click on Gear Icon on the top right corner of your screen and then go to “Reader Settings”.

Step2: On the reader settings page, click on “Import/Export” tab. Here you can also import RSS subscriptions exported from other RSS Feed reader. Now to export Google Reader’s subscriptions click on “Export your subscriptions as an OPML file”. It will prompt you to save the OPML file which contains list of all your RSS feeds on Google Reader.

Step3: After you are done exporting your Google Reader subscriptions into a OPML file then you can go to your desired RSS feed reader and find an option of Importing feeds. Import Feed option for new feed reader usually needs the same file OPML file as an input and will import your subscriptions within minutes.
