Facebook will soon become No.1 display adselling company in US. FB will grow its net US display revenues this year by another 80.9% to $2.19 billion as per an esitmation done by eMarketer. Growth rate of display ad revenue has gone down for facebook as compared to 2009 in which year it posted triple digit ad revenue growth. In 2012, this growth rate is expected to slow down to 31.3%.
Popularity of facebook among masses is the main reason of high ad revenues as ads are targeted to those users whose demographics and personal interests match the ad type.

Google is a strong second with its growth rate for 2012 is expected to be around 58.3% and AOL is ranked last in top5 list of “Net US online display ad revenue growth for 2009-2012”.

Facebook will still lead the display ad market with share of 19.4 % in 2012 from current 17.7% for 2011. Yahoo’s display ad revenue will see a slight downfall with google and facebook getting more hold in display ad market. Google is expected to make a 3% rise from 9.3% in 2011 to 12.3% in 2012 which is expected to come from large advertisers who are already google customer, the range of SMBs who have relied on search for years but are looking to expand their reach, and brand marketers looking to Youtube to widen their video advertising reach.
