In today’s world of so many social networking websites, email services, video services & many other services, user has to create a new account to gain access and get a unique identity on every website. Majority of websites have options where they allow users to connect their account with their accounts on other websites like connecting Facebook and Google Plus or connecting Facebook with Twitter. Most of the users aren’t aware that they can also connect their YouTube account with Facebook, Twitter, Google Reader, Buzz, Orkut & My Space. Google’s new social networking website Google Plus is still missing from this list but soon it will be added to this section. Google recently integrated YouTube and Google Plus allowing users to start a hangout directly from YouTube.
YouTube Activity shared with connected services
Once you link your YouTube account with other services then you don’t need to post your YouTube updates on other connected websites. Whenever you perform any of below actions on YouTube your friends will be notified about that & your YouTube activity is directly shared with all services that you have connected to your YouTube account. Below actions will trigger the notifications
- Like a Video
- Comment a Video
- Subscribe a Video
- Favorite a Video
- Upload a Video
- Add Video to Playlist
How to connect YouTube with Facebook , Twitter & other services?
To connect you YouTube account with other services , Go to Account Settings > Activity Sharing. Click on the service that you want to connect and then provide the login details to authorize YouTube to connect with that particular service. For e.g. if you click on Facebook , you will be taken to a secure Oauth screen where you login with your Facebook userid & password.
On Activity Sharing section, you can always decide what activity you want to share with other services. Just uncheck the activity for which you don’t want to send notifications.
