If you’re are worried about data usage on your iPhone/ iPad then you might also know that majority of your 3G data is used by videos that you watch online either on YouTube or any other video service. You have an option to delete other video streaming apps from your iOS device but you won’t be able to delete the YouTube app that was preinstalled on your iPhone. If you have downloaded new YouTube app by Google which is far better than existing YouTube app, then there is no point in having 2 YouTube apps on your iPhone/iPad.
You can follow below steps to disable or hide YouTube app that was preinstalled on your iPhone/iPad.
Step 1. Go to Settings > General
Step 2. Select Restrictions.
Incase setting is ON you just need to enter your restrictions passcode. If it’s OFF (default setting) then you would need to enable the restrictions first.
Tap ‘Enable Restrictions’ and enter a new passcode. You will be asked to re-enter the restrictions passcode to confirm it.
Now under ‘Allow’ section you should the restriction status of certain apps and features which are ON by default. Setting of ON means that app or feature is allowed to run on your iPhone/iPhone/iPod.

Disable YouTube on your iPhone/ iPad/ iPod : Tap ON in front of ‘YouTube’ and it will toggle to OFF. Now if you go to your iPhone/iPad home screen, you won’t see YouTube icon. YouTube will be disabled and hence will not be visible on your home screen.
Enable YouTube on your iPhone/iPad/iPod: Whenever you want to enable or unhide YouTube on your iOS device, firstly follow Step 1 and Step2.
In this case as restrictions are already ON , so you will be asked to enter restrictions passcode. Restrictions passcode is the same passcode which you would have entered while enabling the restrictions. Now tapping the OFF button in front of ‘YouTube’ will toggle it to ‘ON’.
Go to your home screen and you will notice that YouTube is available and unhidden on iPhone/iPad/iPod.
