How to Disconnect MacBook Pro from Apple TV Remote

Apple products work seamlessly with each other. It is a great thing most of the time but not always. MacBook Pro users might not like Apple TV Remote sync, which automatically plays music through iTunes on your MacBook whenever you click the Apple TV remote.

What should have been ideally the default setting to keep MacBook and Apple TV remote disconnected was unfortunately the other way around. Apple engineers do think different!

How to Disconnect MacBook Pro from Apple TV Remote

To disconnect Apple TV remote from MacBook, go to

 -> System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Advanced (You might have to click the lock to provide password in order to make the changes).

Check “Disable remote control infrared receiver.” Once you do so, the MacBook computer will not work with any remote.
