When everybody is talking about iPhone, here is the shocking news everyone seemed to have missed – A leaked sales data shows that Kindle Fire sale is on Fire! Amazon has sold 0.25 million Kindle Fire in just 5 days. These are impressive numbers – just to add! Our review of Kindle Fire expected Kindle Fire to fare pretty well and that’s what it did.

Cult of Android has published this report and it looks like trust-worthy.

Kindle Fire and the iPad are not exactly comparable (in terms of features and specs), but sales comparison should be good enough to give you the scale of popularity and acceptance of the product. The iPad 2 sold approximately 2.5 million in its first month, which averages like 80,000 per day. The Fire at 250,000 in 5 days is close enough ~ 50,000 per day. If this level of consumer demand for the Kindle Fire continues, Amazon will have 2.5 million preorders for the device before it officially goes on sale on November 15th.

This is a pretty impressive number when compared to other iPad competitors. Motorola only managed to sell 100,000 Xoom units in its month and a half earlier this year. In addition, RIM’s long anticipated BlackBerry tablet, the PlayBook, only managed to sell an estimated 250,000 units in its first month. Nook Color managed roughly a million units in its first two months of sales.

According to the same source, despite selling for up to $100 less, the 6-inch Kindle Touch is being outsold by the Kindle Fire at a rate of 10 to 1, and has only racked up about 20,000 pre-orders to date. The numbers for the $149 Kindle Touch 3G are even worse: only a few more than 12,000 people have ordered one so far.
