Search File Sharing Websites [How to]

Posted by Mayank on September 17, 2011 in Featured,How To

A file hosting service or online file storage provider is an Internet hosting service specifically designed to host user files. Typically provide content-displaying hosting services like video, image, audio/music, virtual storage, and remote backup. There are several file sharing sites like Rapidshare, Megaupload, FileSonic, Mediafire, Hotfile and many more.

One aspect common to all these file hosting or file sharing websites is that they do not allow search of files of a particular name. You need to know the path of the file to access it. Especially the common search engines like Google, Bing do not provide search results from these file sharing websites (even if they can index the search results and display them).

Ignoring Google, Bing etc, there are a few search engines available, which just do the same – they provide file search across multiple file hosting sites. Using these search engines, you can easily search and find the video, audio or any type of file that you are looking for.

FileTram

filetramFileTram is a free search engine which was created to search files in various file sharing and uploading sites. It is permanently monitoring the latest information from around 50 file sharing services that’s being uploaded at file sharing sites. All gathered data is collected at high speed database. FileTram allows you to search files with a keyword, file type (all files, audio, video, images, books), size, date of creating, etc.

FileFab

filefabFileFab is a free search engine designed to search files in various file sharing and uploading sites. As a file sharing search engine, FileFab finds files matching your search criteria amongst the files that have recently been uploaded and the information is accumulated in a database. When you execute a FileFab.com search it delivers results from the database.

FileCrop

filecropFileCrop is also a search engine, which regularly monitors the file sharing or file uploading websites and the search spider provides the data to be uploaded in their database. Again, this is a free search engine. It has a unique search limit criteria based on file size – you can limit your search as per minimum and maximum file size as well. Personally, I like it the best because it provides me the best results I’m looking for.
There are several others as well like General-Search, ShareDigger etc, however FileCrop, FileTram and FileFab provided us the results we’re looking for and hence, they are the only three recommended here. Again, FileCrop has been my favorite as it provides the best search results we’re looking for.
