Sweden is distributing translated copy of author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s book, “We Should All Be Feminists,” to every 16-year-old student in the country.
This is the book I would have wanted to get for all the guys in my class when I was 16 years old,” said Swedish Women’s Lobby chair Clara Berglund in the announcement. “That is why it is so important that we contribute to this project. It is a gift to all students, but also a gift to ourselves and to future generations.”
The book is based on Adichie’s 2013 TED Talk of the same name, which boasts more than 2.3 million views on YouTube. More than 100,000 copies of the book have been distributed to Swedish teens. The advocacy organization will also provide discussion questions for schools teaching Adichie’s text.
