Have you noticed apps disappearing from your iPhone or iPad? There is quite a simple explanation to what’s going on — a new feature that automatically offloads unused apps from your iOS devices.
While this feature is good if you regularly struggle with maxing out on your iPhone or iPad storage (by offloading apps, it releases the storage occupied by those apps) but there are some apps, which you don’t use regularly and then getting logging on to them again might be a pain.
While it seems that the feature is off by default, we’ve heard from some users that they found it turned on without them manually doing so. With this feature, apps are deleted, but not removed from your Home screen. It simply shows a cloud icon next to the name, indicating that it has been removed.
Here’s how to check if this feature is turned on and how to turn it off.
How to Disable Offloading of Apps in iPhone or iPad
- Go to Settings
- Swipe down and tap on iTunes & App Store
- Swipe down if needed and look for Offload Unused Apps
- Turn this feature off if you’d like to keep all of your apps permanently
Simple isn’t it!
